My Experience With The Dolly’s Lash Lift
I first heard about a Dolly’s lash lift when I watched a YouTube video of a very popular makeup artist, getting one. The idea fascinated me and also made perfect sense. Of course, we could perm eyelashes! They are hair-like, but not the same as the hair on our heads.
If this whole concept is new to you, a lash lift is essentially a perm for your eyelashes. It creates a long-lasting curl that lifts your eyelashes and makes your eyes look bigger and more open! It completely negates any need for a traditional eyelash curler and can curl even the most stubborn lashes. I’ve heard that it lasts about 6–8 weeks.
My lashes are thin, short, and stick straight. I always have had to work hard on getting them to stay curled. I’ve tried a few different serums as a way to help them grow longer, and have had some good results and some not so good results.
So before I knew it, I was eyes deep in lash lift videos, and then I decided to give it a try!
I bought the Dollys lash lift kit because I had watched 86 videos already and I eager to get long and thick eyelashes like my favorite beauty blogger. The Dollys lash kit arrived after a couple of weeks. I was ready to become beautiful! You glue a pad to your eyelid.
Get it as close to your lash-line as possible. Then flip your lashes onto the pad and glue them down too. The kit I bought came with little labeled bottles that were even-numbered. So I put the perm solution using a Q-Tip on my glued lashes.
It’s recommended to put them on the tips and the middle of the lash shaft so that the lashes don’t easily get unstuck to the pad and ruin all your hard work. But I can say my first time, some lashes became unglued and I just tried to hold them in place with a handy-dandy plastic thing that came in the kit. I let the perming solution sit for the allotted time.
Then I wiped off the perming solution and put on the setting solution.
I also used the largest size silicone pads that came with the perming kit. Surprisingly this kit came with rods and pads, so I didn’t use the pink pads at all, except for practice gluing it to my lid.
I have big, protruding eyeballs so I thought it might be easier to glue the curling pad, and it was, but I think I used the wrong sized curling pad.
Conclusion
I opened my eyes to beautiful, thick, and curvy lashes. I was on cloud nine. Never in my life, I had imagined that I will get such amazing lashes that I will not have to worry about mascara. All thanks to Dollys lash kit who made my dream come true. I am never letting this one go!
